GENERAL PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
The purpose and intent of this contract is to secure construction services for the design and reconstruction of a staircase, landing and steps at the Anan Bear Observatory. The intent of this contract is to provide for the complete project described in the contract. Unless otherwise provided, the Contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, equipment, tools, transportation, and supplies and perform all work required to complete the project in accordance with the specifications and provisions of the contract.
PROJECT LOCATION:
The Anan Bear Observatory is located at the end of an approximately one mile long Anan Creek Trail, which leaves from Anan Bay on the Cleveland Peninsula, just south of Bradfield Canal. The staircase, landing and steps to be replaced are the last structures as you descend from the Bear Observatory on top of the rock know to the viewing platform next to the Creek.
Anan Bay is located about 30 miles southeast of Wrangell, Alaska. Anan Bay is accessible by boat or floatplane. Helicopter use is allowed. The nearest full service community is Wrangell, Alaska.
