About this opportunity
The Department of the Navy Naval Supply Systems Command is seeking to procure 7 Altimeter, Pressure units with National Stock Number 7R-6610-017108368-QF. This pre-solicitation notice indicates a specialized procurement for flight-critical equipment, with the government intending to negotiate with a single source under FAR 6.302-1. Interested parties must obtain necessary military specifications and standards through the DoD Single Stock Point, and potential contractors must undergo a rigorous source approval process through NAVSUP Weapon Systems Support. Contractors must submit comprehensive technical data demonstrating their capability to produce the item, with source approval being a critical prerequisite for contract award. All proposals must be submitted within 45 days of the notice's publication, with the government retaining sole discretion on competitive procurement decisions.
The pre-solicitation notice does not indicate a specific set-aside designation, and no incumbent contractors are mentioned. While the exact award value is not specified, the procurement is for 7 units of a specialized altimeter, suggesting a potentially limited but precision-focused contract. The delivery is specified as FOB Origin, with a current posted date of November 12, 2024, and a response due date of May 19, 2025. Contractors must be prepared to provide extensive technical documentation, including production experience details or source approval request information. The procurement process emphasizes technical capability and prior government approval, with the potential for award to continue based on fleet support needs even if source approval processes are not completed in the standard timeframe.
