About this opportunity
The Department of Veterans Affairs Network Contracting Office is conducting market research through this Sources Sought Notice to identify qualified vendors capable of providing transport system conveyor parts for the VA Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System. The procurement involves 150 Unibilt pusher dogs (Item# 27810) and 27 Unibilt steel conveyor chain assemblies (Item# 27826-0) needed to replace a failing Material Transportation System (MTS) conveyor in Building 500 that transports surgical, biohazard, and general-purpose carts. Interested companies must submit capabilities statements demonstrating their qualifications under NAICS code 333922 (Conveyor and Conveying Equipment Manufacturing) with a size standard of 500 employees, including information about their manufacturing capabilities, compliance with subcontracting limitations, and federal contract experience. This is strictly a market research effort and not a formal solicitation, with responses required by August 22, 2025, at 10:00 AM Pacific Time via email to Hestia.Sim@va.gov. The government will use these responses to inform future acquisition decisions and may issue additional RFIs or formal solicitations based on the information received.
This opportunity does not include any set-aside designations and is open to all qualified vendors meeting the specified requirements. The solicitation document does not identify any incumbent contractors or provide specific budget ranges or estimated award values for the procurement. The quantities specified are 150 units of Unibilt pusher dogs and 27 units of Unibilt steel conveyor chain assemblies, with the government emphasizing the urgent need for replacement due to the failing conveyor's impact on system functionality. The procurement falls under PSC code 3030 for Belting, Drive Belts, Fan Belts, and Accessories, and interested vendors must address specific questions about lead times, product specifications, and their ability to meet the technical requirements. The government has indicated that the timeline is critical due to the operational impact of the failing conveyor system on the healthcare facility's cart transportation operations.
