About this file

Worker Protection Form Summary

This Worker Protection Form is associated with the Pennsylvania Game Commission's 23WM 2026 Fall Bat Acoustics contract opportunity. The project involves conducting passive acoustic monitoring at a minimum of 70 potential hibernacula portals across Pennsylvania during the fall 2026 swarm period (September 15 to October 30, 2026). The selected contractor will deploy passive acoustic devices at cave and mine portals, collect data, and analyze results to determine potential bat use of these sites. This information will assist the Pennsylvania Game Commission in prioritizing follow-up trapping surveys and protection measures as part of the bat Habitat Conservation Plan. The analysis will provide data on timing, quantity, and species/guild identification of bat activity at these portal locations.

The document serves as a worker safety and protection requirement for contractors performing field work during this acoustic monitoring project. As a protection form, it establishes baseline safety protocols and worker welfare standards that contractors must follow when deploying equipment at cave and mine portals and conducting associated fieldwork activities throughout the statewide survey effort.
