RFQ W91WFU19Q0015-0002 Q&A #2

1. The smallest damage to such a high-quality vehicle causes very high repair costs. One point to note is that a tire for example will cost 5,000 €, a windshield 15,000 €. A damage to the body would lead through the armor to other high costs, which are not comparable to a “normal” vehicle. Is the Government willing to accept vehicles without any insurance at all?

ANSWER: The Government has revised the PWS to reflect that the Contractor is no longer required to provide vehicle insurance.

2. Is the Government willing to accept other than black exterior color and black interior color?

For example, one with beige interior?

ANSWER: The Government has revised the PWS to reflect that other colors will be accepted for the interior and exterior.

3. Without age of driver or accident history, we cannot provide insurance for the vehicles.

Please advise if no insurance is an option.

ANSWER: The Government has revised the PWS to reflect that the Contractor is no longer required to provide vehicle insurance.

4. To provide a new vehicle with these specifications, the standard lead time in 6 months. Is this acceptable?

ANSWER: The Government has revised the delivery date to reflect that the lease must start on 30 Sep 2019. This is due to FY19 funds being used. Please advise if you are able to meet this delivery date now that the requirement has been relaxed in terms of vehicle color, engine specifications, vehicle insurance, and SUV instead of sedan.

5. Must both HAVs be identical or can we provide different brands / models? For example, Mercedes S Class and Audi?

ANSWER: The Government does not have a preference for brand or model. The provided vehicles can be any brand or model, as long as they meet the minimum specifications in the PWS. The vehicles do not need to match one another in brand or model.

5. Can the vehicles be produced in Canada or the United States, as long as they have European specifications and meet other minimum specifications in the PWS?

ANSWER: The Government has revised the PWS to reflect why vehicles must come from a European country of origin. This is in conformance with Army in Europe Regulation 58-1.

6. Does the Government have a preference for sedan or SUV, such as a Land Cruiser?

ANSWER: The Government has revised the PWS to reflect that sedan or SUV are acceptable.
