Cochiti Motor Boat RFI List
How far are you willing to travel to take the boat to a mechanic for installation? Project office would prefer to keep the travel radius within 200 miles if the vessel has to be delivered to contractor for installation.
Could the installation take place at your facility? If so, is there a forklift available for use? The installation could be accomplished at the Cochiti Project Office. A forklift is available at the Cochiti Project Office.
I noticed the delivery time is set for 30 days after award of contract, however, these Mercury engines are currently back ordered from 58+ weeks from the date of order. While the Mercury motor is the closest to an in-kind replacement of the existing setup, a like product that meets or exceeds the parameters of the Scope of Requirements and more readily available is certainly an acceptable option.
We specified “joy stick control” in the PWS because it is the most reliable and responsive control system available now. We are open to more conventional, less-expensive options that provide the same, or similar, responsiveness, but fly-by-wire is critical to the responsiveness and maneuverability of our current watercraft.
The specification of the “Mercury” brand is important because of its noted reliability, durability and the fact that there is a reputable Mercury service center within a reasonable distance of our facility. Facilities that service other brands are outside of that distance and don’t have as good a reputation of the Mercury service center.
The replacement Mercury motors don’t have to be “Verado” models, but they do need to be 250-300 h.p. for the heavy work we do with hauling/emplacing log booms, dock anchors, buoy lines and such.
We hadn’t considered the “trade-in” aspect regarding the old motors. They ran poorly when the craft was de-activated and likely won’t run at all now. However, the model/serial numbers follow:
The are both Suzuki 4-Stroke DF225/Serial number: 22503F-210144 DF225Z/Serial number: 22503Z-210008
