5. Reasons for Authority Cited:
The Steel Cloud ConfigOS for Windows software is being purchased for the CCAD in order to automate Security Technical Implementation Guide (STG) compliance across various different technologies. Steel Cloud converts STIG polices into XML formatted settings, which are then checked against target systems. Once checked, ConfigOS also allows administrators to configure the STIG XML settings to fit organizational needs. Steel Cloud ConfigOS currently supports over 5,000 STIG controls in the following technologies: Windows Server 2007, Windows Server 2008, and Windows Server 2012; Microsoft Windows Firewall and Miocrosft.NET Framework; Microsoft Office 2010 and Microsoft Office 2013; Red Hat Linux 5, Red hat Linux 6, and Red Hat Linux 7; SUSE; Ubuntu; Windows Internet Information Services (IIS) Site and Server;
Internet Explorer 10 and Internet Explorer 12; Google Chrome. Steel Cloud ConfigOS provides the ability to automate STIG compliance across multiple technologies, which no other product has this capability.
The Steel Cloud ConfigOS for Windows software is currently the only product on the market that meets the Government’s requirement for STIG compliance. Failure to provide this specific product would render these systems inoperable.
