3-6. Monitoring audiometry equipment The current DOD-approved equipment for hearing conservation and hearing readiness monitoring is the DOEHRS-HC System.

DOEHRS-HC can be used to complete up to eight audiometric tests simultaneously and can also be used as a management tracking and reporting tool. The DOEHRS-HC audiometer-

(1) Automates audiometric tests and the completion of test forms.

(2) Must receive an annual, comprehensive electro-acoustical calibration to ensure it is functioning properly and in accordance with the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) Standard S3.6. Prior to its use each day, the equipment will receive biological calibration and function checks to ensure it remains in calibration and is properly functioning. The DOEHRS-HC User Manual contains instructions for completing biological calibration and function checks.

b. The audiometric test environment background noise levels must not exceed those shown in table 3-2. The HPM is responsible for ensuring that qualified personnel evaluate the test environment on an annual basis using equipment conforming to-

(1) Type 1 sound level meter requirements of ANSI Standard S1.4 and S1.4A Amendment (or latest approved ANSI standard).

(2) Requirements for Order 3, Type 3-D, extended range as specified by the latest ANSI Standard S1.11.

c. The current audiometric booth certification must be posted on the outside of the booth in an easily seen location.

d. Ventilation systems in audiometric test booths must provide adequate air exchange for patient comfort and must not interfere with the required allowable noise levels when turned on (see table 3-2).

e. Do not paint the interior of audiometric test booths. Painting the metal interior will interfere with its noise reducing effectiveness.

f. Any significant new noise, either inside or outside of the booth, or the relocation of the booth, requires calibration recertification.

g. The Audiometric Test Booth Certification Form and Fact Sheet is available at the USAPHC Website http://phc.

amedd.army.mil/PHC%20Resource%20Library/AudiometricTestBoothCertification.pdf. DOEHRS-HC testing is conducted in a standard, calibrated, certified environment only.

A44: Task Orders and Exhibit 3s will be provided at a minimum of 2 weeks prior to the event.

Q45: What is the estimated percentage of Soldier Requiring Treatment?

A45: The best way to answer this question is to provide Missouri’s FY15 AMRE statistics. In FY15, an average of 12.63% (the highest percentage event had 17.95%) of Soldier attending an AMRE required Dental Treatment. The conversion rate from non-dental ready to dental ready was 61.9%. Vendors need to be fully prepared to convert all Soldiers within the PWS standards to dental ready at each event. The conversion rate goes into past performance consideration.

Q46: Is it safe to say about 8,125 Soldiers will be cared for on this contract over the 1 year period of performance?

A46: All numbers in the Solicitation are estimates which will be finalized at the execution of each task order. In FY15 a total of 7,145 were seen at 22 separate AMREs. This contract has an estimate for 2 additional AMREs.
