1.1 – Background The exhaust system that was designed for vehicular equipment years ago is no longer adequate for use on a newer fleet of vehicles. The Vehicle Maintenance shop requires updated system to handle the exhaust and allow or airmen to safely work amongst the vehicles while they run.

1.2 – Scope The scope of the project is building 206, vehicle maintenance shop’s vehicle exhaust system.

1.3 – Objectives To replace the existing exhaust system with one that meets or exceeds modern requirements and fulfills the need found in the 192 BIO survey. The existing exhaust system needs to be removed and replaced or upgraded, with an equivalent to a Carmon exhaust system to meet specified criteria, due to the failed survey inspection of the current exhaust system by 192d BIO in building 206 Vehicle Maintenance Shop in the 203rd RED HORSE Squadron. Furnish and Install Specified Criteria include the following:

-CMB-25 exhaust fan, 5HP, 3200 CFM @5”SP, 208-230/460/360, with belt guard, suspension platform with vibration isolation, inlet taper/ flex, discharge square to round, motor cover or similar -TSR-W winch type hose storage reel, including closed circuit winch, pulleys, cable, 10” x 25’ HTC hose, and CTA stainless steel adapter with clamp and 45 degree elbow or similar

- Steel supports as required

- Magnetic starter

- Applicable electrical breaker and electrical work

2.0 – Requirements / Task / Deliverables

2.1 Analyze existing exhaust system

2.1.1 Meet with Vehicle Maintenance shop and verify existing system to be replaced

2.1.2 Verify support structure and electrical can support new equipment

2.1.3 Remove existing system for reuse and palletize for 203d storage.

2.2 Replace existing system (Furnish and install)

2.2.1 Equipment is or similar to Carmon Exhaust System

2.2.2 CMB-25 exhaust fan, 5HP, 3200 CFM @5”SP, 208-230/460/360, with belt guard, suspension platform with vibration isolation, inlet taper/ flex, discharge square to round, motor cover

2.2.3 Mount at existing location; approx. 16’ above finished floor height.

2.2.4 TSR-W winch type hose storage reel, including closed circuit winch, pulleys, cable, 10” x 25’ HTC hose, and CTA stainless steel adapter with clamp and 45 degree elbow

2.2.5 Steel supports as required

2.2.6 Magnetic starter

2.2.7 Applicable electrical breaker and electrical work

2.3 Verify system works with existing equipment

3.0 – Schedule

3.1 Begin work within 45 days of Notice To Proceed (NTP) and complete work within 120 days of start of work.

4.0 – Assumptions

4.1 Existing electrical and structural systems can support newer equipment.

4.2 New equipment is compatible with previous system and requires minimal new training to use.

5.0 – Monitory Progress/Compliance

5.1 Submit equipment for approval to base CE no later than 30 days prior to install.

5.2 Submit reports of equipment test to verify and validate operational capability before end of project.
