NOTICE OF PROPOSED TASK ORDER
REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL
Amendment 01
DATE: 01 Aug 2023
| PROJECT TITLE & NUMBER: | DOMOPS Storage |
| PN: FMKM169006 |
1. This amendment is being issued to answer submitted questions.
Q1: Roof Assembly: Can we use 5/8” plywood in lieu of ½” HD cover board? This would allow us to eliminate the bearing plates and 8” long fasteners that would be required to install the metal roofing panels. The plywood would still require the long fasteners, but the metal panel would then be able to attach directly into the plywood sheathing.
A1: 5/8” plywood cover board would be acceptable providing the performance criteria and warranty requirements can be met for the roofing system including code minimum R-value of R-35 for the roof assembly wiith an estimated R=Value of 0.77 for plywood vs. 2.5 for the HD coverboard
Q2: Roof Assembly: The short section of snow retention over the man door on the south elevation will not be enough to hold the snow load back. I would recommend consulting the snow guard supplier (we would suggest using “S-5” clamp on snow guards) as they have engineering support and will be able to tell you what is needed for snow retention base on roof slope and length of run.
A2: for bidding purposes, assume (2) rows of snow guards, across the full length of the south roof edge. Quantity and layout to be verified after award for specific roof manufacturer to be used.
Quantities more or less than bidding allowance will be adjusted by modification.
Q3: Wall Assembly: there is some detailing for the insulated metal wall panels that represent aluminum extrusion in lieu of break metal flashings (see base detail 1/A501) and other detailing that represents break metal flashings. Aluminum extrusions add a significant cost to the project compared to break metal flashings; can all detailing be priced using break metal flashings? Or, can you please specify at which details aluminum extrusion needs to be used. I did not see anything specifically calling out aluminum extrusion in the specifications.
A3: All detailing may be priced using break metal flashings.
Q4: I’m not finding a spec for the pond Sand Filter Media. Can this be provided?
A4: see changes to Specification Section 31 2323 this Addendum.
Q5: Is it ok to use a 24” roofing panel? They have a 20 inch max called out in the specs?
A5: Yes, panel width must be between 12 and 24”. See revision to spec this Addendum.
Q6: Are we to use the 82 ft x 88 ft on page A101 or use the dimensions on the structural drawings S101? 81 ft 4 inches is called out on S101. This is referencing the vehicle storage portion of the building.
A6: The dimensions shown on the structural drawings are to the face of the steel girt framing and foundations, whereas, the dimensions shown on the architectural drawings are to the face of the insulated panels. Please use the structural drawing dimensions for the building layout, foundations, and column locations.
Q7: Is there a specific collateral load to be used, I am not seeing it called out on the drawings or specs.
A7: Recommend using a collateral load of 5 psf to cover mechanical and electrical components.
Q8: Are there specific deflection requirements needed?
A8: Deflection limits shall be in accordance with Table 1604.3 of the 2015 International Building Code or minimum of L/240 for Roof Members and L/180 for Exterior Walls.
Q9: Can you confirm the exhaust fan size and weight as well?
A9: Weight of EF-2 is 19 lbs. Weight of other fan is listed in the schedule.
