Question And Answer Sheet For Solicitation W912LM-13-T-0002

Last updated on 26-Nov-12

Q1. If we do not submit a bid will we still be able to see patients for the MN ARNG?

A1. Yes and No. The contracts created from this solicitation are for soldiers who do not have any other means to have their dental issues fixed. For example – if a soldier has any type of dental insurance, like Tricare, the MN ARNG would not pay for their dental treatment under the resulting contracts. The soldier would follow their insurance rules for seeking dental care. On the other hand, if a soldier does not have dental insurance the MN ARNG would send that soldier to a dental practice with whom we set up a contract resulting from this solicitation.

Q2. In each community where services are needed (Twin Cities Metro, Duluth, Mankato, Fargo/Moorhead, Little Falls, Bemidji, Rochester and Marshall), how many soldiers are estimated to need appointments on an annual basis?

A2. Number of estimated Soldiers per year Twin Cities Metro 208 Duluth 30 Fargo/Moorhead 42 Little Falls 127 Bemidji 26 Mankato 38 Rochester 14 Marshall 15

Q3. Do you estimate the appointments will be distributed evenly throughout the year or are they concentrated into certain months?

A3. The appointments are intended to be spread throughout the year with the exception of the first few months of the base contract. We currently have a slight backlog of Soldiers needing treatment, but we don’t expect a dental office to increase and/or change their regular operating hours just for the Soldiers.

Q4. Once a Soldier identifies s/he needs an appointment, is there a maximum waiting time contractor must adhere to in scheduling the appointment date?

A4. No. Once the Soldier is pre-approved to receive dental treatment s/he will be responsible for making the appointment at the appropriate dental office. The pre-approval has a timeframe in which the Soldier must make the appointment within.
