Questions and Answers
1. I see the specification calls for must be able to lift 3500 lbs at 12ft extension.
Does extension refer to horizontal reach (i.e. 3,500 lbs. at 12' horizontal outreach)?
Or does extension refer to vertical reach (i.e. 3,500 lbs at 12' vertical lifting height)?
ANSWER: The requirement is 3500 lbs at a horizontal extension.
2. The specifications state that you want a base capacity of 8,000 lbs on page 49 of the solicitation however the dimensions listed below for size requirements of the machine are that of a 5,500 lb machine. Also a 5,500 lb capacity reach machine cannot have a full reach lift capability of 3,300 lbs.
When you reference the 3,500 lbs at 12' extension are you referring to lifting straight up or booming out for reach?
ANSWER: On page 49 of the solicitation it shows a max capacity of 8000 with a vertical max of 5500. Booming out for reach at the 3500lbs.
3. Will the forklifts be used indoors or outdoors (or both)? What surface(s) will they be running on?
ANSWER: They will be run out door in mud and on road base.
4. What model is the specifications spec’d around? A CAT TH406C?
ANSWER: Yes, this was the model that our specs were based on.
5. Would the GTH 844 or Skytrak 8042 be accepted? Specs are attached.
ANSWER: I think that either should work, if they are enclosed with temperature control due to them being used if the weather permits or not.
