REQUESTS FOR INFORMATION

A. On the general requirements you have carpet tile listed. On the SOW I don't see where it's asking for carpet tile, is that a misprint? If not, what room(s) get carpet tiles?

CARPET TILE AND COVE BASE ARE DESCRIBED IN DETAIL FOR THE POSSIBILITY THAT CARPET TILE AND/OR COVE BASE ARE DAMAGED IN ANY WAY DURING THE PROCESS OF THE SPECIFIED WORK.

B. Seven Questions listed as follows:

1.) To what extent is the ceiling scope work in all listed rooms: 103, 108, 110, 114, 116, 118, 120, 122, 124 and 129? (PJMS 142043)

MINIMAL. ONCE NEW LIGHTS INSTALLED, THEN RECONFIGURE OR REPLACE AS NECESSARY.

2.) To what extent is the paint scope of work in this project?

PAINTING SPECIFIED IN DV LOUNGE IS NO LONGER REQUIRED.

ELECTRICAL WORK: PAINT PANDUIT WHERE NEW PANDUIT IS INSTALLED.

ROOM 104: PAINT TWO SETS OF DOUBLE DOORS AND TWO SINGLE DOORS AND ASSOCIATED FRAMES. ALSO PAINT THREE (3) WALLS.

3.) In the lounge area, what size is the metal framing and drywall? (PJMS 142033) 2 x 4 METAL STUDS. THERE WILL BE NO DRYWALL. INSTEAD THE CONTRACTOR WILL BE ATTACHING ¼-INCH AC PLYWOOD (FINISHED BOTH SIDES). THERE WILL BE AN AMENDMENT TO THE STATEMENT OF WORK WHEREBY WE HAVE ADDED A REQUIREMENT THAT THE CONTRACTOR INSTALL ENGINEERED LUXURY VINYL - STRATUM LVT – PLANKS TO THE WALL. THESE PLANKS – 7.125” WIDE, 48” LONG, 8 MM THICK - ARE GOVERNMENT FURNISHED. A STATEMENT OF WORK AMENDMENT WILL BE FURNISHED UNDER SEPARATE COVER.

4.) Has the building been checked for asbestos/lead or any other form of contamination?

NOT RECENTLY. HISTORICALLY … YES.

5.) If the answer to #4 is NO, will the Owner be responsible for testing?

IT HAS BEEN DETERMINED IN THE PAST THERE IS NO ASBESTOS IN THE DESIGNATED WORK AREAS. LEAD IS NOT AN ISSUE.

6.) Are there any contract drawings available for this project?

NONE

7.) Where and how can we obtain the drawings of Building 2040?

THE APPLICABLE DRAWINGS FOR THE PROJECT ARE ATTACHED. THERE ARE NO UP-TO-DATE “AS-BUILT DRAWINGS.

C. Eight Questions listed as follows:

1.) Please verify the total quantity of lights needed for separate pricing.

SEVENTY-NINE (79).

2.) Please verify the total quantity of lights needed in rooms 103, 108, 110, 114, 116, 118, 120, 122. 124, 129 is 59

FIFTY-FIVE (55) LIGHT FIXTURES.

3.) Please verify the total quantity of lights in Room 133 is 9.

YES.

4.) Please verify the total quantity of lights in Room 104 is 15.

YES.

5.) Will work be allowed on Mondays? Yes, with scheduling agreement.

ONLY WITH PRIOR APPROVAL.

6.) Will performance or payment bonds be needed?

PAYMENT BOND OVER $30,000. PAYMENT AND PERFORMANCE BOND OVER $150,000.

7.) Sunroom: Will EMT conduit be allowed for all EXPOSED work in ceilings and walls? If not what is acceptable.

EMT INSTALLED INSIDE WALL. CAN BE EXPOSED ON CEILING FRAME(S). PAINT TO MATCH EXISTING EXPOSED EMT.

8.) Sunroom: Who supplies NEW track lighting & lamps? If contractor, can gov’t provide model # or NTE cost for fixtures?

TRACK LIGHTING AND LAMPS FOR TRACK LIGHTING … GOVERNMENT FURNISHED EQUIPMENT.

D. Eight Questions listed as follows:

1.) Please provide the Room Numbers or Square Feet for the carpet tile.

PLEASE SEE THE FIRST ANSWER “A” ABOVE, TOP OF DOCUMENT.

2.) Counts for Devices.

ASSUMING THE QUESTIONER MEANS LIGHTING FIXTURES, PLEASE SEE ANSWERS TO C.1., C.2., C.3., C.4., ABOVE.

ASSUMING THE QUESTIONER MEANS EXISTING ELECTRICAL DEVICES AND COMM DEVICES IN THE LOUNGE, THE COUNT IS: FIVE (5) ELECTRICAL BOXES, TWO (2) COMM BOXES, AND ONE (1) LIGHT SWITCH.

3.) Dimensions of Lounge.

TWELVE FEET (12 FT.) BY THIRTY-SEVEN AND ONE-HALF FEET (37.5 FT.)

4.) Is the Lounge attached to Building 2045, I am assuming the Lounge is the room in the Photos and the solid wall is Building 2045.

THE LOUNGE (SUNROOM) IS ATTACHED TO BUILDING 2040 AND THE PHOTOS DEPICT THE LOUNGE AREA. THE SOLID WALL IS BUILDING 2040.

5.) If the fans are not “dimmable” or won’t except speed control, should we provide pricing for new fans.

NO

6.) Track Lighting being requested … Specifications?

SEE ANSWER TO QUESTION C.8.

7.) Should I be running MC Cable or EMT for the circuits

8.) Any idea where the rooms listed in the scope are in relation to the lounge/panel.
