QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS

08/14/2019

1) What are CTK cases? Shelving is all 24" deep. Specs make it sound as though these cases may be 24" deep. If that's the case we wouldn't need center stops on the shelves. Do you know if they're 12" or 24" deep? Need at least 24” deep clearance.

2) Spec calls for 500 lb. minimum weight capacity per shelf. 300 lb. is much more standard. 500 lb is the minimum weight capacity needed per shelf

3) There's no mention of decking and track arrangement. Do you have any insight on track needing? Decking and ramp should be included and be slip resistant similar to resinDEK.

4) I have one question regarding this job. How many drawers do you want for the 44" high drawer units? For the multi‐drawer units “A” and “B”‐ At least 5 drawers with a depth of 8” to 10”

5) Will the system be accessed from both sides? Yes the system will be accessed from both sides.

6) Is there a truck dock at the hangar, so we could have the mobile shelving product deliver there directly? If not, is there a forklift available? There is not a truck dock at 207. However there is one for use about half mile down the road at B122. If a forklift is required it will be up to the contractor to provide.

7) Are the shelving units closing including backs, sides and ends? Or are they closed backs and ends with open intermediate sides? Or some other combination? All shelving units shall have backs, sides and ends.

8) Are “C”, “D” and “H” units anchored to the floor? As the “end caps” to the system, they can be either anchored to the floor or the track system.

9) Are the “mechanical” carriage drive ends, closed full height or the more economical design of open pedestal? Closed full height.

10) Is the infill floor between tracks finished with a slip resistant tuff deck/resin deck? See #3

11) Is a ramp required on the front as well as the back of the system? Yes

12) Is 450 lbs shelf capacity acceptable? No, see #2.

13) Are all drawers 400 lbs capacity? Yes, the full load capacity of each pull out drawer shall be at least 400 lbs.

14) What height drawers do you want on the “D” shelving units and do you want a divider kit? 8” with adjustable divider kit.

15) Do you want a finished top such as hardwood on the “A” and “B” units? Yes, we want a hardwood finished top.

16) Shall we include an optional separate line item for us to provide and install floor covering within the mobile shelving system? See #3

17) I have a few questions about the multiple drawer units A & B. The layout information states multiple drawer unit A to be 45” x 29” x 44” and unit B to be 60” x 29” x 44”. The written specifications state, “Multiple drawer units must be at least 45”W x 24”D x 44”H.” Will 48”W x

24”D x 44”H be acceptable for multiple drawer units A & B? Yes, those measurements are acceptable.

18) Is there any sort of obstruction between units A and B? I ask this due to the gap between units A & B Yes, there are plumbing, electrical and support structures in that area.

19) Is there a particular combination of drawer heights you would like to have? Shall we create partitions in each drawer? (Multiple Drawer “A” and “B”) At least 5 drawers with a depth of 8” to 10”. Not required, however adjustable partitions will be accepted.

20) Are these pull out drawers interrogated into the same type shelving as the balance of the system or is it referring to a conventional Locking Cabinet with multiple drawers? There is no mention of the number of drawers required in either case. Integrated into the same type shelving as the rest of the system. See #4.

21) Do the multiple drawers require locks on each drawer or simply a gang lock to secure all drawers within each of the units? A gang lock shall be sufficient

22) Are drawer dividers required to separate and organize each drawer’s interior space? If so please provide details. See #19

23) Are locks required for the drawers specified in item “D” of the layout? Yes. A gang lock shall be sufficient.

24) Do the mechanical drive mechanisms require a simple metal shroud or is a full height end panel covering the entire shelving upright desired? See #9

25) Do the stationary ranges of the system require fixed carriage assemblies or are they to sit directly on the existing floor? See #8

26) There is no mention of providing a deck/floor system with access ramp that typically drops in between the rails that the carriage wheels run on. This deck/floor would provide a surface level with the top of the rails helping to prevent tripping while accessing the system. If a deck/floor is required should it have a non‐skid covering provided by the manufacturer? See #3.

27) Will the installation area be clean of obstructions and is there an adjacent staging area that can be used during the installation? Yes and Yes, area will have to be cleared of existing equipment by government personnel, contractor to coordinate with government on time line of area needing to be clear.

28) Is the vendor to be responsible for trash and pallet removal? Yes, vendor is responsible for removal of all trash from installation.

29) Will a dumpster be provided on site for our use? Contractor will not have access to government provided dumpsters.
