About this file
This document describes requirements for a federal contract opportunity for DustTrak nephelometers. The Engineer Research and Development Center's Mobility Systems Branch needs to purchase three DustTrak sensors to collect dust measurements emitted from vehicles as part of validating dust emission models. One DustTrak 8530 nephelometer is required to measure dust concentration or particle size, along with two DustTrak 8533 nephelometers that simultaneously measure concentration and particle size. The DustTrak sensors must be able to operate outdoors for 12 hours on batteries, include data logging and display capabilities, and measure particle sizes from 0.1 to 15 micrometers. Accessories such as enclosures, conditioners, and auto-zeroing modules are also specified. The DustTraks must be provided to ERDC within 90-120 days of contract award at the specified delivery address.
The related federal contract opportunity is solicitation number W912HZ23Q8444 for DustTrak 8530 and 8533 sensors issued by the Department of the Army Corps of Engineers Engineer Research and Development Center.

Description of Requirement
New Contract: DUST TRAK 8530 and 8533
SPECIFICATIONS: The Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC), Geotechnical and Structures Laboratory (GSL), Mobility Systems Branch (MSB) needs sensors that can be mounted to a vehicle to collect dust measurements emitted by the vehicle as described in recent
EPA dust emission report [Mikel]. The data will be used to validate dust models used in ERDCs Virtual Autonomous Navigation Environment. MSB is requesting to purchase three DustTrak nephelometers. One nephelometer that measures either dust concentration or particle size (DustTrak 8530) and two nephelometers that simultaneously measures concentration and particle size (DustTrak 8533) are required. MSB requires the DustTrak nephelometers for compatibility with other DustTrak sensors ERDC already owns. This would allow the new sensors to be used in conjunction with currently owned sensors during testing. Data analysis software for the DustTrak nephelometers should also be included.
Specifications for the DustTrak 8533 (Qty. 2)
