About this file
This document includes a request for quote for a robotic arm system and additional details. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Engineer Research and Development Center intends to purchase one robotic arm to be integrated into an existing Unmanned Ground Vehicle for use in remote sensor deployment. Responses are due by 12:00 PM CST on April 9, 2021 and should be submitted to the identified contracting officer. The award will be made as a firm fixed price single award contract to the lowest price technically acceptable offeror. The robotic arm must meet requirements to have an end effector that can reach 5 feet to either side at a height of 15 feet and fit within the defined volume on the vehicle deck.

Questions from Respondents 4-5-21:
Q1: Is the 15’ listed in the first bullet from ground level? If not, where is it measured from?
Q2: Does the arm need to be long enough so that at 15’ high it can reach the end effector 5’ to either side?
Q3: Can you please confirm that the mechanism used to lift the 150 lb. robotic arm can be mounted outside of the volume allotted to the robotic arm itself, as long as it is in front of the volume and mounted to the front of the vehicle?
Answers:
A1, A2: The end effector needs to be able to reach 5’ to either side at the height of 15’ to satisfy the volume requirement.
A3:The entirety of the robotic arm system must fit into the defined volume on the deck of the platform.
This is to prevent interference with the line of sight of onboard sensor systems.
