Small-Arm Ammunitions

The SvEB at the ERDC has the requirement for the procurement of several types of small-arm ammunitions. The latter will be used for characterizing the protection capabilities of common urban materials under the Force Protection in the Urban Environment (FPUE) program.

Table 1. Ammunition Required Item Number Ammunition Description Quantity

0001 5.56 x 45 mm M995 WC AP 180 0002 7.62 X 51 mm M993 WC AP 160 0003 7.62 x 54R mm B32 AP 200 0004 0.50 Cal M33 Ball 300 0005 12.7 X 99 mm M903 WC SLAP 160 0006 14.5mm BS41 WC 120

Note:

1. Live or inert ammo is acceptable.

a. Live ammo = Bullet and casing together. Ready to be shot.

b. Inert ammo = Bullet by itself, no casing. (If inert ammo is quoted, casings and powder will not be required with your quote)

2. “WC” on item number 0001, 0002, and 0003 stands for Tungsten Carbide. The core of the bullet is WC. This is different from a regular AP round, which are made out of high-strength steel. WC does NOT stand for wadcutter.

3. Place of manufacture MUST be provided for all ammunitions quoted.

4. Surrogates are acceptable, as long as, the standard followed to build it is provided.

a. Surrogate must follow commercial or military standards.

b. Surrogate origin of manufacture must be provided. (e.g., 0.50 Cal M2 AP surrogate was made from European version 12.7mm B32 AP from Armenia).

5. The quantity mentioned in Table 1 refers to the specific amount of bullets required (e.g., Item #1 requires 180 bullets of 5.56x45mm M995 WC AP).

a. If the exact quantity cannot be provided as requested, provide the amount of

(cases/boxes) required to achieve the amount requested. Always round up, not down. (e.g., 180 bullets is (4) four cases of 50 bullets. Therefore, ERDC would receive four cases to meet the quantity required.)

6. If an end-user certification is required for a BATF import certificate, a template must be provided so we can fill it and send it to the vendor.

7. The ammunition is expected to arrive at ERDC by the mid of March. Therefore, the delivery date is March 13, 2020.

8. The government will accept partial quotes. The government reserves the right to make multiple awards to satisfy this requirement.
