Questions and Answers:

Q1. How much of the utility mission is on land compared to in water? We would be building this especially for your purpose so is it 40% slope getting to and from water but not navigating through vines and stumps and ground debris?

A1. The areas of interest are separated by a body of water the ROV must traverse through in order to accomplish the mission. At certain locations, the ROV will be required to perform water ingress and egress covered in rip rap (3-5 inches), low vegetation and compacted soil such as those found along river banks.

Q2. How close to your instrument/test/inspection site must the Unmanned Amphibious Vehicle be able to get or to stay or remain relatively still for a period of test time without drifting beyond an amount?

A2. The ROV while operating within the specification listed on the DOR needs to go where instructed to

go. All the data willing be collected on land and not in the water.

Q3. Will you accept a reproducible or one-off prototype or are you looking for one that is now on the market or COTS?

A3. This requirement is for a COTS item that has been tested.

Q4. The measurement specs. are they flexible in other words could it be selectively greater to offer more stability and articulate back into spec.?

A4. Minimum requirements in the DOR will be used for evaluation of technical capabilities.

Q5. Will it be used primarily in water? How swift? How stationary will it have to remain while being used?

A5. See A1. See DOR requirement #1. The platform must be stable (DOR requirement #7) in order to carry mapping sensors.

Q6. Can it have deployable "training wheels" or "wheelie bars" to prevent risks with high center-of-gravity loads on maximum slopes? (As long as they can retract into the specifies size)?

A6. As long as it meets the minimum requirements in the DOR.

Q7. Will the anticipated payload be a fixed equipment item or will it consist of misc. rocks, drift wood or random small items?

A7. The payloads will consist of a fixed set of equipment secured to the payload platform based on mission requirements that will change. Must meet DOR #5, 11 and 12.

Q8. Will it need to have any special tie-down or mooring eyes or cleats at in-bed-box; above bed or alongside of cargo/payload location?

A8. Special tie-downs, moorings eyes or cleats would be helpful, but not a requirement.

Q9. Lastly, are you looking for a conventional amphibious vehicle to be unmanned operation or a special build to fit special needs?

A9. See DOR.
