Purchase Description Electrical Relay Test System
Background:
The United States Army Prime Power School (USAPPS) trains U.S. Army and Navy personnel on the proper utilization of Electrical Power as it apply to industry standards for Safety for Transmission, Distribution, transformation and switching centers. Testing, troubleshooting, calibration, repair and replacement Safety standards are taught to ensure soldiers safety when working with high voltages.
Scope:
USAPPS has identified an equipment requirement for four (4) Relay Test Systems (Megger® SMRT 46D) with configuration code 30P2F0A3T1 and accessories to support training at the Prime Power School. Relay calibration is required by IEEE the NFPA and OSHA at least once annually. Our mission it to train soldiers on the proper calibration and maintenance procedures on equipment that is mission essential within the 249th
Engineer battalion. This equipment is deployed worldwide and a portable relay test set is required for maintenance of this organic equipment. The Prime Power School has a Critical Task, 052-207-2121, Service/calibrate Solid State Relays, and training events established in the Program of Instruction (POI) to train students on the calibration and maintenance and testing procedures. USAPPS is tasked to provide industry standard training of Electrical Safety, Electrical Practices and Industry standards. USAPPS provides Hands-On training to students giving them real world standards and techniques, to include all safety standards required by OSHA, NFPA and ANSI. The PPS School requirement to continuously evaluate the curriculum for relevance and equipment required to train students in meeting our mission has identified the Megger® SMRT 46D with configuration code 30P2F0A3T1 and accessories as the only viable equipment that will interface with our Megger® Smart Touch View currently used at the school. This is an upgrade piece of equipment to meet the new equipment being replaced in our organic equipment during the projected out years through 2025.
