AMENDMENT 1

W912ES-16-R-0004 – Survey Boat Solicitation

Amendment 1

Question 1. Will the sweep software be included with the government provided Hypack software? In section 3 Depth Sounder sub‐system requirements, sub‐section D states that the government will provide "Hypack" software to be installed by the contractor. Sub‐section G states the need for sweep software. Sweep software is an optional module for "Hypack" software. Will the optional sweep module be included with the government provided “Hypack” software or will that module need to be purchased and installed by the contractor?

Answer 1. No, the sweep software is not provided by the Government. The depth sounder sub‐ system is similar/equivalent to a digital fathometer; the software for this system is separate from Hypack, which is why it states in Section 3.D, ”The Depth Sounder Sub‐system shall output a custom NMEA 0183 string to the government provided “Hypack” software that shall be installed on the Computer Sub‐system. It shall be capable of accepting annotation information from the software package. Interfacing shall be accomplished using a standard 9 pin serial connection."

The Hypack sweep software you are speaking about is interfaced with this separate computer software to collect the survey data, GPS data, and sensor data to achieve proper output data.

The Hypack Sweep module is provided by the Government. The actual software program is easy to install, but the hardlock key with the proper modules is owned by the Government.

If a contractor knows of a different way to output the sounding readings into Hypack, the Government would be interested in hearing what they propose.

Question 2. Is there any flexibility in the length of the vessel and in the beam dimensions as mentioned in the specs?

Answer 2. a. Yes, there is some flexibility in the length of the vessel. The vessel length must be a minimum of 24 feet and a maximum of 25.5 feet. See the revisions made to the Statement of

Work/Specifications.

b. No, there is no flexibility in the beam dimensions.
