QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS

Questions and Answers:

The following section will include questions and answers through subsequent amendments to the solicitation.

Question Response

Will quotes be considered on a shoring kit specifically designed and fabricated for the specific mission, but manufactured by another company?

Yes, companies with different designs, but same functionality should be considered. Example: had overall 6 degree or less ramp angle, axle LBS rating, portable, ATTL certified, ect…..

Will quotes be considered on a shoring kit that utilizes a pooched plate traction surface, designed specifically for small helicopter tires, Instead of using rungs/cleats for traction?

Yes, pooched center ramps designed specifically for rotary aircraft should be considered.

The schedule, on page 3 of the solicitation, details the individual component sizes. The “Approach Ramp”, fourth bullet, states it must be 100-inches long. That will fit on a 463L pallet, but will NOT fit in an 8-foot pickup bed. Will quotes be considered for a shoring kit that has different component lengths, but still creates an overall assembly length that works better for loading the helicopters?

Yes, other designs that have shorter ramp lengths should be considered, if they still provide adequate aircraft clearance for AH-64 30mm cannon does not need to be removed to be loaded in C-17/C-5 aircraft. Same for UH-60 aircraft with

FLIR.

The schedule, on page 4 of the solicitation, addresses the container. It does not mention the dimensions. Based on the dimensions of the Approach Ramp, it must be longer than 100-inches. Will quotes be considered for

Yes, if ramp sections still fit on a 463 pallet for shipment with aircraft on C-5/-17. Container does not have separate item as long as listed as part of kit.

containers that will contain all components, but still fit within and 8-foot pickup bed? Will quotes be considered for shoring kits that includes the container as part of the kit part number (P/N), or does it have to be listed as a separate item?
