W912CN-22-Q-0013 Sprung Structure Repair Service Questions (Q) & Answers (A)

Q1. Do you know the make and model of the OH Door?

A1: Fort Greely Installation believes the door is OVERHEAD Door Company.

Q2. Will the area inside and outside of the structure, to include the snow buildup be removed? Or should the prime anticipate snow removal around the exterior of the structure.

A2: The area will be cleaned out inside and the area in and around the repair will have snow removed by heavy equipment. This equipment cannot clear out right next to the structure to prevent damage. Some snow removal directly on or near (shovels) may be required. Windblown snow is a constant issue depending on the direction of the wind. The entire structure will not be 100% “cleared” of snow but Government personnel and equipment will be on site and on call and can facilitate cleaning areas on an as available basis. Currently there is some “junk” in the structure that will be moved out of the way of any contract requirements by soldiers and government personnel on site (if it is not completely removed prior to contractor arrival). Government personnel will move anything out of a clear “safety area” in and around worksite. Contractor can identify any additional clearing required and we will move anything the contractor thinks may be in the way.

Q3. Will the structure be preheated. In order to install the patches the structure needs to be adequately heated. Or should the Prime anticipate heating the structure.

A3: The Army has large heaters on site to “hook up” to the structure once the contractor installs the contract requested vents. These heaters can be utilized to heat the structure but the facility is NOT preheated or currently heated. The 350,000 BTU heaters (4 each) are on site to be utilized to heat the structure but they are NOT preheating the building. Again, on site government personnel can turn on these heaters as required but until the structure is repaired they will not be fully operational.

Q4. Per the manufacture, lead time for the materials is 4 weeks after order is placed. Shipping to Alaska will take an additional 2 weeks. Even if we expedited shipping, it isn’t possible to procure the materials and install by the RFQ due date. Is the due date flexible?

A4: Repairs must be complete no later than 10 March 2022.

Q5: Are COVID vaccination required? We as a company will not mandate our employees to get vaccinated, and they have all elected to not get it.

A5: No. Fort Greely currently does not check vaccination status of contractors for installation access or contract support requirements.
