3.2.2 Galvanizing Option
As an option to painting, all lifting beam components specified to be painted may alternatively be hot- dip galvanized in accordance with ASTM A123/A123M for structural steel members, and ASTM F2329 for threaded parts, as applicable. Galvanizing of components shall be accomplished only after all welding is complete. Repair damage to galvanized coatings shall be made using ASTM A780/A780M zinc rich paint, for galvanizing damaged by handling, transporting, cutting, welding, or bolting. Do not heat surfaces to which repair paint has been applied.

Delete: “Painting of the monorail track system shall be as specified in Section 09 97 02 PAINTING: HYDRAULIC STRUCTURES.”
Substitute: “Monorail track shall be painted with 2 coats of fast cure, two part epoxy. Minimum dry coat thickness shall be 5 mils per coat. Sherwin Williams Macropoxy 646 or approved equal. The coating system shall have the following minimum performance characteristics when tested by the referenced standards:
