Q1: Regarding BAA call for Platform Subsystems Technologies (Solicitation Number: W911W6-17-R-0001) what is the history for awards? 2 for $500k, 3 for $250k, 2 for $100k? This will help us scale the project proposal appropriately.
A: See Section 3.3 of the Call for guidance. The number of awards will be based on available funding and the technical merit and affordability of the received proposals.
Q2: How important is cost share? My client is a non-profit. Will that be taken into consideration?
A: Although TIAs with a minimum of 50% cost share are desired, a variety of funding instruments are available for potential award. Please refer to Section 3.3 of the Master BAA W911W6-16-R-0004 (see Section 1.0 of the Call) for the available funding instruments.
If proposing less than the minimum objective of 50% cost share, include rationale and justification in your cost proposal. Depending upon the circumstances, the Government may offer a cost share contract in lieu of a TIA.
Q3: The solicitation generated some interest here in potentially proposing a technology solution, but as we are a small company (22 employees), we would like to know if any consideration may be made for proposals having less than 50% cost share, as suggested in the solicitation (section 3.3). As we are an R&D technology development company, and have leveraged the SBIR program extensively to support that development, a 50% cost share would prohibit our direct participation, I am afraid.
A: See answer to Q2
