RFI ANSWERS

W911SG-18-B-0022

QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS TO RFI’s

1. Do you have the location of the bench mark for elevations?

The bench mark is located on the median of Sergeant Major Boulevard, between the Access Control Point and Luke Street. Please refer to attached map.

2. Our company will be teaming with a sub, can their bonding take care of their portion and with mine cover the remaining of the project?

Answer:

Either one of these is acceptable.

* Subcontractor/Teaming partner indemnifies the company

* Subcontractor/Teaming partner enter into a co-surety agreement

3. As per drawings, we will be digging lower than 10ft, do you have a list of expected requirements?

Even though we are showing a trench detail on the drawings, we would like for the Contractor to obtain an approved trench dimensions from a Professional to avoid any accident. This document will have to be submitted to the COR before the NTP. Also, the Contractor needs to comply with OSHA Standards and get the Safety Plan approved by the Safety Officer.

4. Would you be providing an electronic copy of the plans to assist with the As builts?

The government will provide the proposed AutoCAD files for this project.

5. Will the contractor be required to include lighting/lights with the temporary chain link fencing?

No additional lights will be required, the traffic control plan should have devices with appropriate reflectorized features in compliance with MUTCD to safely direct the traffic at night.

6. Should the temporary fencing be damaged by passing traffic and outside the contractors’ control, who will be responsible for additional cost of repair/replacement of temporary fencing?

Contractor shall be responsible to secure the working area at all times and replace any damage equipment during construction. The Temporary chain link fence shall be properly secured with no afterhour’s access and shall have privacy screen.

7. Please provide the high traffic (drop-off/pick-up) times for the school so that optimal work hours may be determined.

The Milam School hours are from 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM and the Daycare hours are from 5:30 AM to 6:00 PM. We would like to have a meeting with the school and daycare authorities to coordinate the construction before the NTP.
