Description: T-11, Slip Pull Simulator (SPS)

The T-11 Slip Simulator is to be a simple to administer PT test apparatus. The apparatus is to match within a very close tolerance the actual effort required by a paratrooper with combat equipment, pulling a slip while under T-11 canopy during the last 200ft AGL. The apparatus is to be equal for all students within the Airborne School specified weight/height range 5-95th percentile. There should be no adjustments required by instructors to compensate for the weight of the student(s). Any student should be able to test at any apparatus point(s). During the validation of the apparatus there shall be a digital verification of the effort required to “pull a slip”.

There shall be minimal setup(s) for the Instructors during the morning of the PT test. The apparatus shall be either free standing or placement onto a concrete pad will be considered. The apparatus will be sufficiently durable for a long service life. The apparatus will be all weather serviceable without the need for frequent painting or re-coating; IAW FM 3-21.220 and the BACSOP

Description: Improved Swing Landing Trainer (ISLT) Trapeze

The Improved Swing Landing Trainer T-11 Trapeze is to be a simple to operate training apparatus. The apparatus is to match within a very close tolerance the actual effort required by a paratrooper without combat equipment, pulling a slip while under T-11 canopy. The apparatus is to be configured such that the risers will separate in a practical fashion similar to a T-11’s risers.

There should be no adjustments required by instructors to compensate for the spread of the risers.

There shall be minimal setup(s) for the Instructors during Basic Airborne Course. The apparatus shall be attached to the existing cables under the currently used structure. The apparatus will be sufficiently durable for a long service life. The apparatus will be all weather serviceable without the need for frequent painting or re-coating. The project calls for use of 25 points of Improved Swing Landing Trainer T-11 Trapeze.
