QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS: W81XWH19Q0036 – Linear Impactor System
QUESTION:
Can we use another technology for the Linear Impactor instead pneumatic?
ANSWER:
We are open to other technologies that perform the overall function and can reach the requested velocities. However, the equipment is intended to go indoors in a specific room. Space could be a potential limiting factor, as well as, environmental considerations such as catch reservoir.
If we use another technology, the weight of the actuator will be different, can we?
ANSWER:
The technology must be able to reach the defined speeds. How different is the weight of the other technology?
May I know the range of movements (vertical, lateral...) for the Sled subsystem?
Vertical: +/-18 inches Lateral: +/-6 inches Front/Back (line of impact): +/-6 inches Head Nodding Rotation (flexion/extension): ±25 degrees off vertical Head/Neck Rotation: Not the sled subsystem per se, but the mounting of the head/neck complex on the sled subsystem should be able to rotate 180 deg about the z-axis.
Can you provide a drawing of the sled subsystem?
No. This is something the vendor must design/build/provide with the ability to meet the defined specifications.
