Amendment 0001
Question and Answers
MEC:
Includes option to purchase a mobile unit component to assist with mitigating risk for damage to machine during transport.
Question #1 – Can you elaborate?
Answer #1 – We would like to have the option to purchase (at a later time, should we require it) an attachment to the machine in order to make it possible to affix the machine into a mobile unit/lab. The attachment does not need to be a permanent part of the machine; rather, an additional piece of equipment that could be installed to stabilize the machine during transport. The machine will be stationary at first, but may be placed into a mobile unit in the future.
Question #2 - Is the solicitation asking for a separate mobile system?
Answer #2 – No, we are looking to purchase two of the same unit.
Question #3 - Or is it asking for a type of add-on or component that allows the system to be mobile?
Answer #3 – Correct. We would like the machine to be equipped with the ability to become mobile should we require it in the future. We would like the option to purchase this add-on.
Question #4 – Referencing the overall solicitation #W81XWH-17-T-0131, would the Government be interested in a completely refurbished unit or a new unit?
Answer #4 – At this time, we are looking to purchase new machines only. The vendor shall be an Original
Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) authorized dealer, authorized distributor or authorized reseller for the proposed equipment/system, such that OEM warranty and service are provided and maintained by the OEM. All software licensing, warranty, and service associated with the equipment/system shall be in accordance with the OEM terms and conditions.
