The core function of the APP Division is conducting research in support of the U.S. Army Medical Research and Materiel Command (MRMC), Military Operational Medicine Research Program (MOMRP), Task Area 1 (Protect the Warrior from Auditory and Vestibular Injury Due to Blast and Combat Exposure). The contract support is required to maintain the division's capability to conduct the evaluation of hearing protection devices.
The company shall provide maintenance for ViAcoustics/Nelson Acoustics software licenses for the period FY2016 through FY 2020.
This contract provides software and hardware support for the Nelson Acoustic Software Nelson Acoustic Software Trident (3 licenses), the Nelson Acoustic REATPro (2 licenses), and Nelson Acoustics Impulsive Peak Insertion Loss Analyzer (IPILA). It includes 1½ days onsite visit to install and upgrade software and train users on new features and up to 15 hours follow-up support for existing software
The contract includes all upgrades to existing Trident, REATPro, and IPILA licenses, telephone, e-mail and/or online support for these applications and one site visit per year.
Part No. NAS-TRI/UP Nelson Acoustic Software Trident Annual Upgrade and Support Contract Upgrades for three (3) single-user Trident licenses
Acoustics Trident software is a real time multichannel, multiple analysis acoustic measurement application for use in acoustic and hearing sciences laboratory applications.
Part No. NAS- REATPro/UP Nelson Acoustic REATPro Annual Upgrade and Support Contract, All upgrades and updates to two (2) single user REATPro licenses
REATPro is a third generation software application for use by hearing protector professionals. REATPro conducts for conducting Real Ear Attenuation at Threshold (REAT) audiometric measurement in accordance with the ANSI S12.6 and ANSI S3.19 standard test methods on earplugs, earmuffs and other hearing protection devices and systems. Plus, when used in conjunction with our Trident software, REATPro also supports many other measurements commonly conducted in hearing protector test laboratories, including MIRE and fixture based testing of hearing protectors. REATPro operates on National Instruments PXI-4461 and PXI-6220 series hardware. REATPro is an automatic Békésy audiometer program designed to provide stimulus and track responses for sound field hearing threshold determination for both occluded and unoccluded conditions. REATPro also provides calibrated signal generation for MIRE and fixture based tests.
Part # NAS- IPILAV3/UP Nelson Acoustic Software Impulsive Peak Insertion Loss Analyzer Upgrade Contract, Upgrade to one (1) IPILA license
Nelson Acoustic Software Impulsive Peak Insertion Loss Analyzer (IPILA) is a software tool designed for the management of time waveforms and the calculation of the Impulsive Peak Insertion Loss (IPIL) of a hearing protector in accordance with the ANSI S12.42-2010 standard. The IPILA software, working in conjunction with out Trident software, automates the data acquisition and analysis process associated with the IPIL rating for hearing protectors. IPILA uses calibrated audio WAV files that are generated by our Trident data acquisition software. WAV files are analyzed for peak sound pressure level and A-duration. Both calibration and occluded waveform tools are provided. Color coded indicators test for compliance with standard requirements.
