Vendor Day Questions and Answers:
1. Why do you need 20,000 tubes in the stockyard?
a. Specimens need to be maintained for up to 7 days depending on specimen or tube type.
2. Do the storage racks need to be automated?
a. It is preferred that the racks be automated with automatic disposal
3. Are seismic mounts needed for the analyzers?
a. Yes
4. Will the Government do site visits to see how proposed analyzers are being used and how they work?
a. It is possible depending on the references provided with bids.
5. The RFP states integrated analyzers connected to the automation line. This would eliminate vendors that attach each analyzer to the line which has proven to help in TAT and efficiency. Is there a reason only integrated will be considered?
a. Analyzers that attach are considered to be allowed for this requirement. Please include this information in your proposals.
6. Does your LIS system have unique container ID so it can determine the difference between tube types within a specimen number. For example, if the specimen 123 for Jane Doe has a green, a purple, and a blue tube, does your barcode specify the tube type and not just the specimen number.
a. Current system has Positive ID Sample, as well as our future HIS, Cerner. It has a unique container ID.
7. Do you front load samples at night?
a. Yes, lab technicians do this as a personal preference. It is not required.
8. What third party analyzers would the Government want to interface with the analyzer?
a. Submit in your proposals what is fully available.
9. Is it possible to have separate access to the DI for connections?
a. No, the Government IT department does not allow this connection.
10. Does the Government have the ability to virtualize?
a. No
11. Can you provide a list of tubes for automation and analytic system ton include the manufacturer?
a. Yes, this will be provided as an attachment to the solicitation.
12. Will the Government be providing interim drawings of the phases of Lab Construction?
a. Yes, this will be provided as an attachment to the solicitation.
