Attachment 04 – Q&A

1. In section A.5.1 you list the monthly average of solvent estimate to be 1540 gallons. In reviewing the size of the machines and the estimated number of services per machines listed in Section B.2, we are coming up with a monthly average of 916 gallons. This seems to be a large discrepancy, is there an explanation that would account for this?

Answer:

96 each, IT-48 parts washers/cleaners. Average of (12) total changes per month...... 12 changes x 50 Gallons = 600 Gallons 13 each, IT-80 parts washers/cleaners. Average of (2) total changes per month.........2 changes x 80 Gallons = 160 Gallons 13 each, SK-81 parts washers/cleaners. Average of (4) total changes per month........4 Changes x 80 Gallons = 320 Gallons 4 each, SK Model 24 Brake/washers. Average of (2) total changes per month........2 changes x 40 Gallons = 80 Gallons

Total of 1160 Gallons per month not counting topping off parts washers due to evaporation. Again this is an estimate and may change as the work load does.

2. In reviewing the number of machines and the services required on an annual basis in Section B.2, HCC does not see the need for a project manager on site full time to maintain this contract. Is that a requirement?

Answer:

Yes, if a parts washer goes down or it needs the solvent changed and it is in a critical path of a vehicle line.

3. Will there be a centralized storage/pickup location on the Depot where the spent solvent drums will be staged for the contractor? Will the contract be responsible for getting the drums to this location?

Answer:

It is the contractor's responsibility to furnish barrels for the spent solvent and contractor's responsibility to remove the spent solvent from the Depot. The only centralized storage location on the Depot will be for solid hazardous wastes which the contractor is responsible to take it to the storage area. RRAD environmental will furnish these barrels and see that it is shipped off Depot.
