Packaged Equipment Modules (PEM) controllers interfacing with Universal Network Controllers (UNC). These systems include hardware, software and field devices used to implement Anniston Army Depot’s EMCS.

The existing UMCS at Anniston Army Depot is based on MODBUS and pulse type meters (electric, gas, water and steam). The pulse meters provide pulse outputs to MicroZone II controllers. The controllers feed this data to the

UNC and subsequently to the Enterprise Server. Other meters interface directly to the UNC with via MODBUS protocol. The UMCS includes hardware, software and field devices used to implement Anniston Army Depot’s

Utility Metering program.

In buildings that have both EMCS and UMCS functions, the UNC is common to both.
