Statement of Work (SOW)

1 Apr 19 Hot dip galvanizing of MK79 metal pallets Quantities:

Min. 140 sets – Max. 21,000 Sets (Consists of top and bottom frame – one (1) each) Approximately 300 lbs per set

Lot shipment = 140 sets Variation in quantity of +10% is permissible for quantity specified.

Scope:

The vendor location where work will be performed shall be within 200 miles driving distance of McAlester, OK. McAlester Army Ammunition Plant (MCAAP) will transport pallets to and from the vendor’s location where galvanizing will be performed. The vendor will be responsible for the loading and unloading of Government trailers at the job site.

Each pallet set consists of a top and a bottom frame. The condition of the pallets is new and rusted. Pallets shall be hot dip galvanized and must meet ASTM-A123 / A123M standards. Additionally-sufficient drain time shall be given to each pallet after the final rinse dip to ensure that there are no “blow outs” due to moisture when introduced to the zinc vat. If these blow out areas do occur, they must be addressed at the factory prior to delivery. To insure a legible stencil, Contractor will give special attention to all stenciled areas on pallet, as well as all saddle areas to minimize surface roughness after galvanizing.

Pallet Top Frame – Approx. 70” x 38” x 3.25”

Pallet Bottom Frame – Approx. 70” x 38” x 6.75” A preproduction testing quantity of three (3) pallet sets shall be provided to the Government for testing purposes, within fourteen (14) calendar days of Contractor receipt of the pallets. See also the clause entitled, "First Article Approval -- Government Testing".

Once the preproduction testing quantity is approved in writing by the Contracting Officer, the Contractor shall have seven (7) calendar days to complete each lot of pallet sets for Government pickup. Each lot shall be supported with a Certificate of Conformance.
