B132 Command Post Furniture Q&A
1. Does the building have a loading dock?
A: The building has a loading dock, but it is not the most accessible entrance to the spaces in which the furniture is to be installed. Images are attached of the ground level entrance that would be best to use for access to the building. The entrance door is on the right under the awning.
2. If no loading dock, where will we load/offload the truck?
A: See answer to Item 1.
3. Approximately how far is it from the truck parking location to the install location?
A: The image is taken at the ground level entry door shown above. The hallway is approximately 75’ to the entry of the space (on the right side of the corridor) in which furniture is to be installed. The freestanding furniture in the corridor will be cleared at time of delivery and installation.
4. Are there any stairs that the product will need to go up or down to reach the truck location? If so how many?
A: There are no stairs between the unloading area and installation location.
5. Do we have access to a passenger or a freight elevator to use for delivery to the installation location (if applicable)?
A: Access to an elevator should not be necessary, but one is available in the building.
6. Are any electrical or data cabling services required?
A: Power and data are currently installed in the required locations.
7. Do we need to provide an electrician to attach the systems furniture to building power? If so, do we need to pull new circuits from the electrical panel or will we attach to existing power junction boxes at walls/columns?
A: Contractor will provide services to hard wire furniture to building power. Whips are to be provided by the furniture contractor.
8. Can we deliver and install the product during business hours?
A: Yes, deliveries and installation would be best to occur during business hours, M-F 8AM-5PM. Work can be performed on weekends and after hours but needs to be approved prior to execution.
9. Would you accept a map table constructed from High Pressure Laminate in a cherry finish?
A: It is acceptable to provide alternate pricing for high pressure laminate in an approved finish in addition to a price for solid wood.
It should also be noted that the map table will need to be assembled in place. The top and leg panels will need to be separate components with leg panels attached and secured within the space the table is to occupy. The doorways will not allow the map table to be shipped as one complete unit because of the height of the table. With this information, the construction of the table may need to be modified for assembly.
Please include recommended modifications in the bid proposal.
General comment: Door widths are 36.” Doors can be removed and reinstall by the Contractor, if needed, during installation.
