Weapons (Bldg 1040):
1. No legend exists. We need clarification on what these symbols represent, example: How many and what type of cables to each.
o Clear Triangle o Shaded Triangle o Half Clear Half Shaded Triangle o We did get the update that shows red 1 & 2 on the plans however, there are red 2's on clear and shaded triangles. Please clarify.
Shaded, half shaded, and clear triangles bare no effect on the cable counts for each data drop. The cable counts were clarified on 7/23:
Red 1 indicates outlets requiring 3 CAT-6 / 1 MM FOC Red 2 indicates outlets requiring 2 CAT-6 only All other outlets shall have 4 CAT-6
A side note – TV drops consist of 1 RG-6 and 2 CAT-6 o Need clarification on the symbol outside of the vault. Is this a camera? If so, are there specs for the camera or is this just cabling. Is mounting, aim and focus in a different SOW.
Assuming they mean this symbol , it is a CCTV drop for security and is not subject to this contract. It will be handled under a SFS contract.
2. Per SOW is the telecom busbar already installed and grounded by the electrical contractor?
Award of this contract should include installing the busbar and grounding.
3. Per SOW is the 50 pair copper cable already in the manhole 1? Is our scope to splice and extend into communications room 000? What type of splice case do you need? Any specific brand? Is the contractor providing the 50-pair cable?
The 50-pair is ran to the manhole but needs to be respliced and extended to the Comm Room. Splice case should be water proof and there is no specific brand required. Scope should include the 50-pair cable from the splice to the Comm Room.
There is an existing 50-pair cable from the manhole to the entrance point but the termination location has changed making the existing cable not long enough. The splice can be done using the existing cable to the building but must be in the manhole.
4. Per SOW are there any cross connections between the 2 new 110 blocks.
Government shall do the cross connection between the 110-blocks.
5. Per SOW, does the 36 strand fiber exist in manhole 1 and just need to be pulled into the telecommunications room 000? Or is this a new run from ITN South to telecommunications room 000?
We do not splice fiber. The 36-strand needs to be a homerun to ITN South and terminated in an existing FODP in the ITN. The building end shall be terminated in a contractor provided FODP.
6. Per SOW Blonder Tongue Amp part number is missing.
Agreed, the part number was omitted. Blonder Tongue Part Number FRRA-S4S-860-43P
7. No paging speaker specifications provided.same room can be connected together. Do all other speakers need to be home run to the telecommunications room? No paging zones are indicated. Are they going to be ceiling or wall mounted, or a combination of both? Can you provide the tap values? Will they be a 25 or 70 volt line system or wattage?
Speakers are not specified in this contract because they are not in the scope of this contract, speakers shall be provided by the GC. All speakers should be homerun unless there are two or more in the same room/hallway – in that case they may be daisy chained. No paging zones required within the building, they will all be the same zone. Speakers will be a combination of ceiling mount and horn style wall mount but are provided by the GC. Assume the speakers will be set to 2A for evaluating the size amp required. 70V
8. No part number provided for the Bogen paging amp.
Contractor shall determine the correct size/model amp to be installed based on data in Question 7. Bogen TPU-?
9. No LMR antenna location provided. Does this cable terminate on anything in the telecommunications room or will it be left rolled up?
LMR location provided on drawing and denoted by “LMR” in Room 005. Cable terminates in Room 005 and extends to the roof in GC provided conduit. Cable can be coiled in Room 005.
10. We assume LMR antenna and antenna installation is not part of this SOW.
Correct. The government will install the antenna and radio.
