Questions and Answers:
Q: Is there a square footage of area that this portable system is to protect?
50'x50' square for example?
A: LP degrades further distance from mast. F-35 dimensions are Length 51 feet, Wingspan 35 feet. LP needs to cover that area. One Lightning Protection antenna per Aircraft. Will be parking/loading 4 F-35s organically thus; requiring 4 (ea) Lightning Protection antenna's.
Q: Is a grounding receptacle provided or will a new grounding system that the portable LPS ties into need to be part of the proposal?
A: - There are existing airfield grounding points that Antenna will be connected to.
Q: Is the contractors selected allowed to demonstrate the deployment of the system, as well as providing written instructions of course?
A: I don't want a demonstration. Directions/manual will be fine.
Q: Is there a maximum height for the mast?
A: 38 Feet
Q: Is there a maximum storage space available? Does this need to collapse in certain length sections? Can it be stored upright as deployed?
A: Storage space is limited. Antenna's would need to break-down when not in use. Will not be stored upright.
Q: During the deployment process, can some sort of vehicle be used or will it be pure man power?
A: A vehicle can/will be used to transport to deployed location on Airfield. Set up is anticipated to be manual.
