1. Panel EPA

The SOW states, “Contractor is to furnish and install new 200Amp sub-panel in same location of sub-panel EPA”

The existing sub-panel EPA is actually a 125A panel. Is the intent to upsize this panel from 125A to 200A, including upsizing the conduit and feeder and switchboard breaker which feeds the feeder? (if yes, please provide the switchboard and breaker information)

Or is the intent to provide a replacement panel the same amperage and size as the existing?

Per the new work section of the SOW, Contractor is to furnish and install new

200Amp sub-panel in same location of sub-panel EPA. Any work not mentioned in this scope of work that would be considered a part of industry standards to bring to code is required.

2. Panel EPB

The SOW states, “Contractor is to furnish and install new 200Amp sub-panel in same location of sub-panel EPB”

The existing sub-panel EPB is actually an 80A panel. Is the intent to upsize this panel from 80A to 200A, including upsizing the conduit and feeder? Or is the intent to provide a replacement panel the same amperage and size as the existing?

Per the new work section of the SOW, Contractor is to furnish and install new

200Amp sub-panel in same location of sub-panel EPB. Any work not mentioned in this scope of work that would be considered a part of industry standards to bring to code is required.

3. Power Filter

The SOW states, “Contractor is to install new 100 amp power filter in room 149”

The existing power filter is fed from an 80A breaker which is in a sub-panel fed by an

80A breaker. Is the intent to upsize the feeder to the power filter, and the sub-panel EPB and upsize the feeder from panel EPA? Or is the intent to provide a replacement power filter the same amperage as the existing?

Per the new work section of the SOW, Contractor is to furnish and install new 100 amp power filter in room 149. Any work not mentioned in this scope of work that would be considered a part of industry standards to bring to code is required.

4. Is it acceptable to surface mount the new panels EPA, EPB, and power filter?

For aesthetics purposes, the panels should be recessed unless there is not enough room for installation purposes. The second option would be to surface mount the panels. The power filter can be surfaced mounted.

5. The SOW item # 7 listed attachments “BLDG2120 Power Plans And Panel Schedules 04-

01-95 PLTE-2”

Plans have been uploaded.

6. What is the existing main wire size?

Please review the uploaded drawings.

7. If the wire size is not large enough to feed the EPA panel, would we be required to include changing the wire back to the main feed?

Yes, per the solicitation, contractor will furnish and install upgraded wiring if need be to ensure proper operation and meet local, state and federal codes and industry standards

8. Why is EPA a 200-amp panel, EPB has an 80-amp main and is a sub feed?

UPGRADE AND FOR FURTURE USE

9. Does EPB get a new main sub feed from main circuit board?

YES

10. Please give us direction on how you are expecting to feed one 200 amp subpanel off of another

200-amp subpanel.

Contractor to review drawings and provide solution.

11. What is the required amount of time to schedule a shutdown?

Contractor will be required to give a notice a minimum of 3 business days prior to any shutdown for coordination purposes (if allowed)

12. Will any of the work be required to be done off hours?

Depending on any shutdown requirements, contractor may need to work on a Monday to avoid disruption of daily operations.

13. Will we be required to schedule the escorts, or will you schedule the escorts based on the construction schedule?

GOV WILL SUPPLY ESCORTS

14. How long will we be able to have power shutdown to EPA and EPB or will we be required to provide temporary power?

Answer pending.

15. Will we be required to provide a schedule of values for this project due to its low-cost magnitude and single trade?

YES

16. What’s the distance from main panel to panel EPA?

Please review the uploaded drawings.

17. *The contractor is to furnish and install a new 200Amp sub-panel in the same location of sub-panel EPA.

Contractor is to furnish and install new 200Amp sub-panel in the same location of sub-panel EPB. (80amp existing)

If we are to furnish a new 200Amp Main Breaker for EPA panel and then run a 200 amp feeder to the new EPB sub panel, we would not have enough capacity to power the existing loads in the EPA panel.

Question: Shouldn't' we be upgrading the EPA panel above 200amps to handle the existing loads there and the new 200 amp sub-panel downstream?

Answer Pending.
