RFI No. Question / Comment SME Response

R0001 Is a tier 3 generator acceptable. No.

R0002

During the job walk it was said that most if not all the conduit and would be installed by the government. Could you clarify what that means. What footages and sizes are we responsible to provide and install.

At building 1204 you will be responsible for providing, connecting and running the cabling from generator to ATS/ATS to Disconnect. Rough estimates are 30 feet from generator to ATS & 5 feet from ATS to Disconnect.

R0003 What is the contractor responsible for to mount the new generator in place like a concrete pad?

Place and secure generator on provided concrete pad.

R0004

Can we get a refined SOW that spells out what the government is providing and what the contractor is responsible for.

See RFI for cabling needs, Connectors and Hardware required to mount the new

ATS (2) & Generator (1) is industry standard for creating a complete list.

R0005

BLDG. 602 Will a backup emergency generator need to be onsite in case of power outage until work and commissioning of ATS is complete or will base be providing backup generator?

Backup Emergency Generator will be available if it is deemed necessary.

R0006

BLDG. 1203 It was stated at site visit that the conduit raceways and generator pad would be provided by the government and the contractor is to only make final tie-ins to ATS and generator with conduit once equipment is set. Contractor is also to provide cable and terminations into equipment.

During the site visit it was uncertain where the generator and ATS would be placed, therefore a footage for cable to be provided and installed is not known. Is there an estimated footage that should be used for bidding purposes for cabling to be provided and installed?

See RFI 0002

R0007

BLDG. 1203 Will the Air Quality Permit for the new Tier 4 generator to be installed be procured by the government or will contractor be providing with generator?

The permiting will be handled by the 146thAW

R0008

Please confirm if you need 600V for both the Automatic Transfer Switch and the generator. Or are these units for separate sites?

See PWS.

REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) LOG

R0009

There is no such thing as a stationary “Tier 4 final” diesel generator. That sort of engine only comes on a mobile/prime power package. Is that what you are looking for?

There are a wide range of EPA Tier 4-certified stationary and mobile prime generator sets to provide critical protection in virtually any power generation application. With power nodes ranging from 60 to 2,750 kW.

R0010 When do you need deployment for this equipment?

See solicitation for Period of Performance

Single lines are not available

R0012

R0014
