Questions Submittals 22-R-5046 Johnstown Grounds
Q1. The map/drawings for PA51 show retention ponds. The specifications indicate not to service these without a line item. Do we service retention ponds?
A1. No
Q2. Map/drawings for PA51 show mowing sf, trimming sf, edging LF. Please provide the same information for PA52 and 53.
A2. See attached maps for PA052 and PA053
Q3. At all of the properties except for the one located at ATC Tower 471 Airport Road, there are fences around parking areas for govt. and army vehicles. Inside these fences behind where vehicles are parked there is grass and weeds growing. My question is are we supposed to trim/cut the grass and weeds down that are inside the fence around these govt. vehicles or no? Looking at the maps I can't tell if it's something that needs done or not, and I was unable to find anywhere in the SOW that indicates we have to.
A3. Yes, fence lines are to be trimmed inside and out
Q4. Retention Ponds located at 195-292 Aviation Drive: I just wanted to confirm that the actual retention pond itself does not need to be maintained and to just maintain the edges of it.
A4. Correct
Q5. In reviewing section 5 of PWS for the solicitation, we noticed that they are three services listed that are not on the costing sheets. They are as follows: 5.4.4 Spring and Fall Cleanup 5.4.5. Maintain Retention Ponds 5.4.6 One- Time Fence Clearing. . If Spring and Fall cleanup is required, what is the total acreage of the facility?
A5. They are not required if there is not a Line item as per the SOW
Q6. Is it correct that you wish for ALL fence lines to be weed wacked and up to 10’ off the fence lines both side?
A6. Yes.
Q7. If so does that mean we will be granted inside contained fence areas and equipment will be moved to do the grass/weed trim?
A7. Yes contractor will be granted access. No equipment will not be moved. Contractor shall weed whack (trim) the best he/she can with equipment left in place.
Q8. There are areas of embankment and shear drop offs that don’t allow for doing them 10’ out from fence lines in places. What do we do about that?
A8. The contractor is to trim or trim/mow the areas 10’ from fence lines. In areas where 10” cannot be achieved extreme drop off’s or embankments the contractor is NOT responsible due to safety. The contractor will simply trim and/or mow as far as they can due to the embankment.
Q9. Are embankments (front & back) at the St Clair facility not included in the general maintenance categories of mowing or trimming?
A9. Yes the embankments for St Clair Rd are to be mowed and/or trimmed.
