About this file
This document is a Written Purchase Description for the procurement of one new Type 1 ambulance and associated equipment by the Town of Douglas, Massachusetts. The Town is soliciting bids through an Invitation for Bids (IFB) process. The ambulance must meet specific requirements, including conformance to the KKK-1822-F Standard, a gasoline-powered engine, heavy-duty suspension, a power-assisted loading system, and various emergency and scene lighting features. The Town will award the contract to the responsive and responsible vendor offering the lowest net price, after factoring in the trade-in value of the Town's existing 2011 ambulance. Bidders must acknowledge the amendments to the requirements, which include a 120-day maximum delivery timeline and the requirement to reflect the trade-in value in the final bid price. The Town will allow bidders to view the trade-in vehicle until June 11, 2019, and the bid deadline has been extended to June 18, 2019.
The Town is an equal opportunity employer and is seeking a complete package purchase, including the ambulance, associated equipment, and applicable warranties. Bidders must provide their final bid price net of the trade-in value, and the Town will not consider any bids that do not reflect this requirement.
