STATEMENT OF WORK (SOW)
FOR
2023 INTERNATIONAL SOCIETY FOR PERFORMANCE IMPROVEMENT (ISPI)
CONFERENCE APRIL 24, 2023, THRU APRIL 27, 2023
1.0 GENERAL
1.1 BACKGROUND
The foundation of the Coast Guard training system is rooted in the principles of Human
Performance Technology (HPT), which are codified in Force Readiness Command
(FORCECOM) policies and procedures and implemented throughout the Coast Guard and at
Training Center Commands. Training managers and performance consultants lead, administer, and manage the training system through the implementation of HPT and associated knowledge, skills, and abilities. They fill a vital role in linking and integrating Program Managers and
Training Centers to deliver resident training and advanced distributed learning for operators and support personnel executing Coast Guard missions. Most have introductory skill sets garnered from formal education, but a vast majority of their learning comes from the on-the-job and through engagement with industry and academic partners. Providing advanced training and learning is necessary for their continued development and progression as human performance technologist in the Coast Guard.
1.2 SCOPE
The 2023 International Society for Performance Improvement (ISPI) Conference is a widely attended conference organized and held by a non-profit organization. The annual flagship event brings together the best and brightest in the multi-disciplinary field of performance improvement to share the latest research, innovations, tools, and technologies. This conference provides professional development training in HTP to Coast Guard Training Center Commands, performance support branches, training managers and performance consultants. The ISPI provides workshops to broaden individual's knowledge base in human performance standards and technologies. This conference also allows the CG to present and facilitate discussions on CG training successes.
1.3 OBJECTIVE
Provide opportunities for training community to identify industry best practices that will enable the CG to realize its Modernized Ready Learning goals.
