Statement of Work – Marine minerals GIS support

1. Project Description

The Coastal and Marine Global Marine Minerals Project at the Pacific Coastal and Marine Science Center is working towards a data-integrated marine minerals prospective.

Interest in marine minerals is expanding after a long hiatus; relevant stakeholders are unaware of prospective regions in the US EEZ as well as the data guiding those judgements. This project will provide integrated marine minerals data to guide potential new domestic sources for critical minerals and base metals and inform outstanding questions including baseline environmental needs relevant to use of these potential resources. Hence, development of the proposed map will be highly relevant to a number of federal, state and local stakeholders.

2. Description of Services

Services will include bathymetric mapping, geologic and oceanographic data compilation, literature review, database and/or metadata management, data interpretation and report generation. Bathymetric mapping will be carried out using ArcGIS or similar software.
