Purpose and Objectives: The NIDA IRP Cellular Stress and Inflammation (CSI) is looking to procure a new imaging system to examine protein through western blotting and other assays. CSI was established for the purpose of studying the role of endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress and inflammation in neuronal dysfunction caused by substance abuse or neurodegenerative diseases. Protein analysis is an essential technique for the CSI examine and quantify target proteins. The current imaging Li-Cor system was acquired over a decade ago and needs to be replaced with a more functional imaging system. The replacement system will be shared with the Hope laboratory and Genetic Engineering and Viral Vector Core.
