Section B: Description of the Supplies/Services Required

Section C: Justification for Soliciting from a Single Source or Brand Name

This service supports the B-52 aircraft landing gear repair shop in the 532 CMMXS. Southwest United Industries is capable of performing the work as they have on the previous IDIQ service contract and they have shown interest in the BPA service contract. There was an attempt to locate additional vendors.

E-mail was sent 13 Dec 2021 to Metal Services INC to verify capability and request if interested in bid. Their response indicated this Chromate plating was out of their scope of work services.

Sources sought was posted 3 November 2021 for two weeks on Beta.SAM with no responses received.

Therefore based on our findings, the only responsive vendor was Southwest United Industries.

Section E: Steps to Preclude Future Single Source or Brand Name Awards

At this time, Southwest United Industries Inc is the only identified vendor to perform the required work. Unless other vendors are willing to support this requirement we will continue to award to Southwest United Industries. Future market research shall continue to be conducted in an effort to locate additional sources.
