About this file

This document is a Description of Intended Single Source Purchase (PUR 7776) issued by the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (FDACS). The agency intends to award a single-source contract to Water & Soil Solutions, LLC to operate, optimize, and maintain four existing floating aquatic vegetative tilling systems located in the eastern Caloosahatchee Basin, Fisheating Creek Basin, L28i Basin, and the North Feeder Canal basin. The vendor will also be required to monitor phosphorus load reductions and provide GIS data layers of the deployed technology. The contract term is from July 1, 2023, through September 30, 2024.

The estimated dollar amount for this single-source procurement is approximately $5,100,000. Water & Soil Solutions, LLC was selected as the sole source because the firm specializes in designing and implementing innovative and sustainable environmental treatment technologies, has expertise in evaluating wastewater and surface water treatment technologies, and owns the patents to the floating aquatic vegetative tilling technology. The vendor has already secured the necessary landowner approvals to operate the existing projects.
