This part is a com m ercial off the shelf item . C om m ercial item descriptions, com m ercial vendor catalog, price lists or com m ercial m anuals assigned a technical m anual num ber apply. The G overnm ent does not possess the process data or the necessary resources to m anufacture this part to fulfill custom er requirem ents. This is a com m ercial item used on a com m ercial engine. C urrently, C
FM
International Inc. (C
A G
E: 58828) is the only know n source for this item . This item is a highly specialized com ponent of an engine assigned to a m ajor w eapon system ; accordingly, C

. The developm ent of an additional source to produce this item is not feasible w ithin allow able tim efram

ny reverse engineering w ould require significant engine testing and possibly flight testing. The latest A ccelerated M ission Test (A
M T) perform ed by propulsion (not including any bench testing or flight testing) cost approxim ately . Pursuit of either reverse engineering efforts or validation of alternative specifications w ould be both cost and schedule prohibitive for the A ir Force. To date, no such efforts have been initiated or funded. Further, considering the investm ent required, it is anticipated the only circum stance to trigger initiation and funding of such a requirem ent w ould be if no source, including the O
EM
, w ere available. For these reasons, it is not possible to draft adequate specifications w ithout substantial duplication of cost to the G overnm ent that is not expected to be recovered through com petition and unacceptable delays in fulfilling the A ir Force’s requirem ents.
