A Bank Letter of Credit may be provided to prove that your company is financially secure - it should specify how many years your company has been with the bank, the average amount of money kept in the account, the amount of your credit line, and the available balance of the credit line.
An Irrevocable Letter of Credit or Performance/Payment Bond is also acceptable for security purposes. A bond may also be required if the bank letter is determined insufficient to secure installment payments. The cost of a bond may be added to a potential contract as a separate line item.
NOTE: cost of a bond is added to the total price of your proposal for evaluation purposes.
Whichever form of security is provided must be sufficient to cover the total price of the contract, not just the 70% of deliverable items requested in the form of installment payments.
Third party financial funding may not be added to a potential contract as a separate line item and will not be directly paid by the US Government. If third party financial funding is required, it is upon your company to obtain the funding. If this adds additional cost to your proposal the difference may be added to the price of the offered equipment.
