About this file
This document is a Special Packaging Instruction (SPI) for a Power Supply, detailing precise packaging, preservation, and shipping requirements for military logistics. The SPI provides comprehensive instructions for packaging a power supply using specific military standards (MIL-STD-2073 and MIL-STD-129), including detailed specifications for container dimensions, cushioning, closure methods, and marking requirements. The document specifies two packaging levels (Level A and Level B) with precise dimensional tolerances, gross weight measurements, and fragility guidelines.
The document also includes critical international shipping requirements related to wood packaging material (WPM), mandating that all wooden lumber, pallets, and containers must be constructed from debarked wood and heat-treated to 56 degrees Celsius (133 degrees Fahrenheit) for 30 minutes. Certification by an accredited agency recognized by the American Lumber Standards Committee is required, ensuring compliance with International Standards for Phytosanitary Measures (ISPM No. 15) to prevent the spread of invasive species like pinewood nematode in international trade shipments.
