About this file

This document outlines technical specifications for Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) receivers and related accessories required by the United States Geological Survey. The solicitation seeks two Spectra Geospatial SP85 GNSS receivers or equal, each with an internal 410-440 MHz UHF radio, built-in WiFi, Ethernet port, cellular modem of 3.5 or greater, and Bluetooth. The receivers must be able to track signals from GLONASS, Galileo, BeiDou, QZSS, IRNSS and SBAS constellations. Two TDC600 handheld data processors are also required along with two antenna poles, two external data storage chips, two internal batteries, and two internal battery chargers. The receivers must meet specified real-time and post-processed positioning standards and have a minimum 4GB internal memory and 0.10 second recording rate. The related opportunity is solicitation number 140G0123Q0312 for GNSS receivers seeking brand name or equal products to be awarded by the Department of the Interior US Geological Survey Office of Acquisitions and Grants.

Salient Characteristics GNSS Receiver Physical Characteristics

· Shall have an internal UHF radio and bandwidth between 410–440-Megahertz (MHz) Transmission Rate (TRx) for Real Time Kinematics (RTK) communications between the base receiver and the rover receivers using the bandwidth range authorized to the USGS.

· The internal antenna shall be able to track all the GNSS satellite constellations currently available. This includes GLONASS, Galileo, BeiDou, QZSS, IRNSS, and SBAS. It may also include the technology for the next satellite constellation generation.

· Shall have built in ethernet port, Wi-Fi capability using available hotspots, a cellular modem of 3.5 or greater, and Bluetooth features.

· 8. Shall be IP67 rated housing

· Shall have the option to use an external data storage (such as a chip or thumb drive) for extended memory capacity and/or external recording.

· Shall include one compatible external data storage card.

· Shall include one handheld data processor. Example unit model TDC600 (or equal).

GNSS Receiver Acquisition Characteristics

· Capability to receive Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) signals and the data broadcast from the CORS (Continuously Operating Reference Stations) within the Continental United States (CONUS)

· Shall export NMEA messages.

· Shall have fast recording rates (minimum of 0.10 times per second or 10.0 Hz).

· Minimum of 4 Gigabyte (GB) internal memory.

· Shall export NMEA messages.

· Shall meet or exceed the following Positioning Standards:

Real-Time DGPS Position:

Horizontal: 25 cm (0.82 ft) + 1 ppm Vertical: 50 cm (1.64 ft) + 1 ppm Real-Time Kinematic Position (RTK): Horizontal: 8 mm (0.026 ft) + 1 ppm Vertical: 15 mm (0.049 ft) + 1 ppm High-Precision Static Horizontal: 3 mm (0.009 ft) + 0.1 ppm Vertical: 3.5 mm (0.011 ft) + 0.4 ppm Post-Processed Kinematic:
