| Text1: 7/20/16 | |
| Text2: DLA Document Services plans to execute, without using full and open competition, an order with Eastman Kodak Company for software maintenance and support of 1 NexPress, model SX3300 (Serial #EPS-1001-02) located at DLA Document Services, Quantico, VA. | |
| Text3: DLA Document Services provides high quality color output services to customers throughout the DoD. Although Document Services IT is maintaining the day-to-day operation of the front-end of the NexPress printer, a requirement still remains for Kodak to provide additional software maintenance, upgrades and troubleshooting of their propitiatory NexPress software. The estimated value for this effort is $30,000.00. | |
| Text4: 41 U.S.C. 1901 [Simplified Acquisition Procedures] | |
| Text5: The printer that needs software maintenance support is manufactured by Kodak and Kodak software engineers have specialized training for their propitiatory NexPress software. Research has indicated that there are no other vendors in the area that have the technical expertise to troubleshoot and/or maintain the software on this particular equipment. | |
| Text6: It will be post on FBO for 3 days. | |
| Text7: A search was conducted to see if other suppliers could provide the maintenance and upgrades. This search resulted in not finding any potential offerors that would be able to provide these services. | |
| Text8: The software maintenance and upgrades are specific to the Kodak NexPress. | |
| Text9: No other sources expressed interest in the aquisition of this item and maintenance support. | |
| Text10: Continued attempts to locate other contractors that are capable of providing software maintenance and upgrades for the Kodak NexPress printer will be conducted via internet searches and any other methods. | |
